The Home Ventilating Institute has long thrived on the backs of its volunteers who provided service to the organization largely without acknowledgement or the expectation thereof. Over the years, a handful of individuals have been singled out for their efforts and achievements, but a formal awards program was not created until January 2009 when the Board of Directors established the HVI Distinguished Service Award in their desire to recognize and promote the outstanding leadership characteristics exhibited by our most faithful volunteers.

The HVI Distinguished Service Award is awarded annually at the HVI Spring meeting by the Board of Directors to distinguished representatives and partners of HVI who have served well and brought honor to themselves and the Home Ventilating Institute. All representatives of HVI member companies in good standing as well as representatives of recognized HVI partner organizations are eligible for this award.

Recipients of the HVI Distinguished Service Award are individuals who have:

Rendered outstanding service for the benefit of HVI;
By his or her example, excellence and professional and personal conduct, elevated the image and stature of the residential ventilation industry, among his/her professional colleagues and the public; and,

Made a substantial contribution toward materially furthering the objectives of the Home Ventilating Institute and the residential ventilation industry.
