(Wauconda, Illinois) — The Home Ventilating Institute (HVI) announced the results of Officer and Director elections at the HVI Annual Meeting on September 13, 2011 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA. John Fox of Air King Ventilation Products in West Chester, Pennsylvania was elected to serve a two-year term as Chairman of the Board. Don Stevens of Panasonic Home & Environment Company in Keyport, Washington was elected as Vice Chairman/Treasurer. Russell Pope of Soler & Palau in Jacksonville, Florida was re-elected as Secretary for a two-year term. Jim Boldt of Broan-NuTone, LLC in Hartford, Wisconsin now serves as Immediate Past Chairman.
Directors re-elected to one-year terms include Daniel Forest of Venmar Ventilation, Inc. in Drummondville, Quebec; Doug Steege of Renewaire in Madison, Wisconsin; and Terry Siegel of Ventamatic, Ltd. in Mineral Wells, Texas. New directors elected to one-year terms include Gary Craw of American Aldes Ventilation in Bradenton, Florida and Bill John of ebm-papst, Inc. in Farmington, Connecticut.
In addition, two ex-officio members were appointed to one-year terms: John Harper of Ventamatic Ltd. in Mineral Wells, Texas and Andy Krug of Delta Products Corporation in St. Charles, Missouri. Ex-officio members are non-voting, advisory members of the HVI Board of Directors appointed by the voting members of the HVI Board for the purpose of supplementing the expertise and knowledge of the voting Board members.
Fox noted there are several priorities on which the HVI Board of Directors will focus during his term as Chairman. "During the next two years, HVI will continue to promote the value of HVI-Certified products to builders, contractors, architects, engineers, code officials, distributors and consumers. In addition, we will work on promoting the importance of ventilation to human health and strengthen our partnerships with key organizations such as ENERGY STAR®, California Energy Commission and the Healthy House Institute." Fox continues, "The Board of Directors will also work toward increasing membership participation as well as increasing consumer awareness of HVI services and benefits."
The Home Ventilating Institute (HVI), founded in 1955, is a nonprofit association of the manufacturers of home ventilating products. Through its Certified Ratings Program, HVI provides a voluntary means for residential ventilation manufacturers to report comparable and creditable product performance information based upon uniformly applied testing standards and procedures performed by independent laboratories. Certified performance ratings include airflow, sound and energy.
